Engineering Design Consultants for the long-awaited Ballina Flood Relief Scheme are set to be appointed in January 2020.

This news has been confirmed this morning by Deputy Leader of Fianna Fáil Dara Calleary.

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Kevin Boxer Moran has informed the Mayo TD that a tender competition for the procurement of engineering design consultants for the project is underway and it is anticipated that the consultants will be appointed in January 2020.

Deputy Calleary says the consultants will be responsible for preparing a programme for the implementation of the flood relief scheme and for assessing all viable options to address the flood risk in the Bachelors Walk/Arbuckle Row, Howley Terrace area of the town.
