A South Mayo Councillor has again raised his concerns about the height of the water in Lough Corrib and Lough Mask.
Patsy O’Brien says the lakes are a metre higher than they should be at this time of year.
Cllr. O’Brien says with the heavy rain forecast over the days it is imperative that measures are put in place where there isn’t a repeat situation of 2015 where some people in South Mayo were out of their homes for weeks as a result of flooding.
The Fine Gael Councillor says the simple solution is to open the sluice gates.
