Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has recently erected new road signs in the county, and has erected them in locations that are proving hazardous to road users, limiting visibility at junctions, according to Ballyhaunis based Fine Gael councillor John Cribben.

In addition councillor Cribben says the TII have left the old poles on which the older road signs were located in place.

He raised his concerns at the monthly meeting of the Claremorris/ Swinford Municipal District meeting and asked council management to contact the TII to address the problem.

He cited a particular incident, highlighted to him by a man living along the Ballyhaunis to Claremorris road impacted by the new TII road sign location.
