Funding of €82,300 for two, first responder organisations, in Mayo has been announced this morning by Minister Michael Ring under the First Response Support Measure of CLÁR.

The Mayo branch of the Irish Community Rapid Response is to receive 50,000 euro for the purchase of a vehicle, while the Grainne Uaile Sub Aqua club in Ballina has been given 32,300 for the purchase of a 4x4 vehicle.

Minister Ring told Midwest News today that he is delighted to support these community based organisations in the vital work they do to keep members of the community safe and well. He says these groups need to have proper equipment and training in order to ensure they can perform their important, life saving work.
