The community of Knock will be putting its best foot forward tomorrow afternoon when the judges in this year’s 2019 Pride of Place Awards will be visiting the Marian village.
The Pride of Place Competition is an all-island competition, organised by Co-operation Ireland and Local Authorities. It recognises the work being done on a daily basis by communities throughout the island of Ireland.
There are four Mayo finalists in this year’s competition, representing different categories.
Straide representing populations under 1,000, Knock 1000-2000 population, Ballinrobe 3,000 to 5,000 population and in the Age Friendly category – Mayo county council’s Intergenerational project.
The judges will be visiting the four locations today and tomorrow.
