Galway-based animation company Telegael has received a new backer - India's Toonz Media Group. It’s is one of Asia's largest animation and entertainment groups.
Toonz has acquired a majority stake in the Emmy-winning production house based in Spiddal, with which it already has a number of co-productions.
Set up in 1988, Telegael employs up to 350 staff, including fulltime and contract workers.
It co-produces animated and live action content for a range of international partners and broadcasters.
Its clients include some of the biggest names in global broadcasting and it has produced more than 1,000 hours of television, which have been distributed to over 150 countries and translated into over 50 languages.
