Residents in Ballaghadereen are considering taking a judicial review of the decision by Roscommon County Council to grant planning permission for a battery storage facility in the town.
Permission was granted last December for a battery storage facility at Tonroe, Ballaghadereen - despite a similar facility being refused planning permission by Longford County Council on safety grounds.
A special meeting of Roscommon County Council was convened yesterday to discuss the matter, however, the council executive did not attend the meeting.
A deputation from Ballaghadereen outlined their concerns to Councillors, and will now consider a judicial review of the planning decision.
That's according to local Sinn Fein Councillor Michael Mulligan, who says a further public meeting will take place to discuss their options.
