A Mayo woman has been found dead while on holiday in an Austrian ski resort.
The 31-year old woman has been named as Rachel McDarby from Ballinrobe and is believed to have been on holiday with family members and a group of 20 other people at the Hotel Park in the St Johann area of Tirol in Austria.
The Irish Sun reports that her family contacted police when they were unable to contact her yesterday morning, and her body was discovered in her hotel room.
Investigators believe the cause of death was the result of a medical issue, and do not suspect foul play.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to her family.
At today's Claremorris Municipal District meeting, councillors offered their sympathies to the McDarby family on the loss of their daughter.
