Ballaghaderreen is to host the 2019 Roscommon County Fleadh Cheoil on the Easter weekend in mid April.
It's been ten years since the last Fleadh was held here and the town can only be seen as a richly deserving host with a strong traditional music connection boosted by four weekly sessions all year round in Ballaghaderreen.
The Roscommon Fleadh is always held at Easter, it has the reputation of being one of the best County Fleadhs in the Country with large numbers of musicians and music fans travelling from all over Ireland and overseas on the holiday weekend.
Now with Good Friday licensing laws changed the three day event has become a four day event.
The return of the Fleadh will be warmly welcomed in the area and will also bring a very positive injection to the local economy.
