A 31-year-old Sligo man has pleaded not guilty of murder, but guilty of the manslaughter of musician Martin Kivlehan more than three years ago.

Keith Brady of Cartron Estate, Sligo will go on trial before the Central Criminal Court tomorrow.

Mr Brady was arraigned before the court this morning, and charged with murdering the 59-year-old on a date between 2nd and 3rd August 2015 at the New Apartments, Holborn Street in Sligo town.

Mr Kivelhan was found with stab wounds to the neck.

Keith Brady pleaded not guilty to murder, but guilty to manslaughter.

A jury of four women and eight men was sworn in to hear his trial, which will begin tomorrow before Ms Justice Carmel Stewart and is expected to last more than two weeks.
