Met Eireann has described Storm Callum as "a very serious weather event" which people should be prepared for.

The forecaster has issued an orange weather warning for coastal counties from 10pm tomorrow until Friday morning.

Mayo, Sligo, Donegal, Galway, Clare and Kerry are all included under the orange alert.

They're expected to be affected by strong winds of up to 130 kilometres per hour, while winds of up to 110 kilometres per hour are being forecast for inland counties.

Meteorologist with Met Eireann Joanna Donnelly is urging the public to be cautious while the weather warning is in place.
