We have treasured memories of the many Christmas Days she spent in our house when in good health. Many will remember sprightly Nell still cycling down Mountain Rd to do her weekly shop having passed her 80th year. Eventually a hip replacement procedure slowed her down a little but she recovered under Susan’s care in our home until she was determined to return to the bungalow on Mountain Rd, proudly built with her beloved husband, Pak Neary, over 50 years ago. Sadly, Pak passed away in 1977. Nell was denied the chance to share her dream home in her golden years with the love of her life.
Nell took pride in her Kilkenny roots and was over the moon when her county’s famous hurlers claimed several All-Ireland Championships. At the grand age of 87, Nell was thrilled to be chosen as a special Maid of Honour at our wedding.
