Kathleen Ruane nee Kelly

Dooneen, Castleconnor, Co. Sligo - peacefully at the Ard na Greaine Nursing Home, Enniscrone in her 94th year.

Kathleen, Predeceased by her husband Paddy, sons Gerard and Kieran, sisters Bridget, Mai and Evelyn.

Beloved mother of Breege Cardy (U.K.), John (Dooneen), Peter (Dooneen), David (Bundoran) and Raymond (Galway).  

Deeply regretted by her loving daughter, sons, brother, John Kelly (Clontia), sister Nan Hallinan (Dublin), son-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest in peace

Reposing at McGowan’s funeral home, Ballina on Monday evening (3rd January) from 5.30 with removal at 6.30 to St. Joseph's Church, Castleconnor arriving at 7 o’clock.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning (4th January) at 11 o’clock with burial afterwards in Killanley Cemetery.

Kathleen was my godmother and aunt. In my mind's eye, I see her perfectly greeting me with a broad smile and that high pitched voice of hers, whenever I stepped over the threshold at Dooneen. There was always a natural and deep-seated warmth in her dealings with me and an equally warm cup of tea and something tasty to be expected from the kitchen. My thoughts go to my cousins and their extended family members on this genuinely sad loss. May the fond memories of this incredible woman take them through the difficult days ahead.
