Rehins, Ballina - peacefully surrounded by his loving family following a short illness.

Deeply mourned by his heartbroken wife Maura; his sons, John and Padraic; his daughters Geraldine, Collette and Michelle; and his adoring grandchildren, Róisín, Liam, Sarah, Eoin and Anna; sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at McGowan's Funeral Home, Ballina on Friday evening (10th December) from 6 o’clock with removal at 7.30 to St. Muredach's Cathedral, Ballina.

Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday morning at 11.30 with burial afterwards to Ballinahaglish cemetery, Knockmore.

Shocked and saddened to hear this very sad news of Gearóid’s passing. Forever grateful our paths crossed through work and the Fleadhanna. We became very good friends.
After Gearóid retired I was blessed to be able to call on him to ‘sub’ in Sraithín National School. He enjoyed returning to teach again in the school where he taught with Maura before work took them nearer home to Rehins National School.
