Mayo forward Sarah Rowe has joined Women's AFL club Collingwood in Melbourne. She has become the second Ladies Gaelic footballer to join the WAFL and the second Mayo player after team-mate Cora Staunton to try her luck in the recently formed Women's AFL. Now in its third year, the WAFL has been a massive success and Rowe told Midwest Radio how much she is looking forward to joining up with the club.
The former underage international soccer star and LGFA All Star nominee in 2017 explained how she sought advice from former Collingwood and Down player Marty Clarke who gave her an insight to the Magpies while she also revealed that she will not be turning her back on Mayo Ladies either, with the 2019 championship campaign very much in her sights. She also revealed how she battled throughout the 2018 campaign with a serious shoulder injury. Listen to the full interview with Midwest Radio below.
