  • Galway manager Kevin Walsh says the loss of Paul Conroy is a big blow.

    The 29 year old midfielder suffered a double leg break in yesterday's historic Super 8s victory over Kerry at Croke Park.

    It is the first time the Tribesmen have beaten the Kingdom in the Championship since 1965.

    The Galway boss feels Conroy embodies the spirit in the camp.

  • Galway midfielder Paul Conroy has confirmed he broke both of his legs in the game with Kerry.

    Conroy confirmed to Galway Bay FM that he suffered a double break in his left leg during the first half of Galway’s Super 8 win over Kerry on July 15th.

    Following surgery at Dublin’s Mater Hospital, the St James’ clubman learned he also had a hairline fracture in his right leg.

    Conroy said the messages from the GAA community has been uplifting on the road to recovery and is already eyeing up his return in 2019.
