  • MEP Maria Walsh calls for the EU Commission to treble Erasmus funding to increase accessibility to the graduate programme for people with disabilities.

    The Mayo MEP believes students with disabilities would be better able to avail of the graduate programme if the proper supports are put in place.

    The Midland Northwest MEP believes that giving access to people with disabilities to the programme is vital for advancing inclusivity and nurturing independence.

    She told Midwest Radio News that it is important to keep pressing disability issues with the commissioners in the EU.

  • Newly-elected MEP Maria Walsh is attending her first plenary session in Strasbourg this week.

    The Shrule native was elected to the European Parliament in May, alongside sitting MEPs Mairead McGuinness, Luke Ming Flanagan and Matt Carthy, to represent the 13 counties in the Midlands-Northwest constituency.
