Mayo manager James Horan has had a busy few weeks since taking over as manager of the Mayo Senior football team. He & his management team had over 100 players from 44 clubs involved in trial games as the plans for 2019 got underway. "It was a great exercise from our point of view as a new management team & the reaction we got from clubs & players was fantastic. A huge number of players wanted to be involved which is great to see and we are delighted to begin working with this new squad from next week on. We have lots of new players involved in the squad to complement existing players who are all looking forward to the challenges ahead."
"The new season is fast approaching and we are looking forward to getting to work on on the training pitch when the hard work will begin. We will be looking at ways of developing these players and building our game. The support of the Mayo people is great and as always makes the season exciting. They know only too well the importance of players being allowed to prepare away from any distractions. As people enjoy the lead in to Christmas the group will be working hard to prepare for the new season ahead."
"It's also great to see three Mayo clubs(Ballintubber, Belmullet & Balla) involved in Connacht club championship action this weekend and we have no doubt all three clubs will be doing their upmost to go as far in their respective competitions as they can. We wish all three the very best of luck over the coming weeks & we will follow their progress with great interest."
