  • Gardai are treating the deaths of a mother and her seven month old son in Dublin this morning as a family tragedy.

    Midwest News understands the woman is a native of county Mayo.

    Her body was found at Lower Road in Strawberry Beds after she was seen acting suspiciously on the M50 Toll Bridge at around 3:45 this morning.

    Gardai then went to a house in Lucan and discovered a 7 month old baby boy in an unresponsive condition - he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

    The bodies of the mother and child have been removed from the scenes for post mortem examinations.

    Gardai say they aren't looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths.

    The names of the deceased have not been released.

     

  • The mother and son who died tragically in Dublin last week will be laid to rest in Ballina this Saturday.

    Nicola Coleman nee Keane and her baby son Henry died tragically last Thursday.

    The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday morning at 11:30am in St. Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina with burial afterwards in Leigue Cemetery.

    The funeral of Nicola and her son will be strictly private at all stages.

    The family have asked to respect their privacy.
