• Irish Water has confirmed that the boil water notice in place in the Kilconnell area of Co Galway has now been lifted.

The boil water notice was put in place in June following high levels of turbidity in the Kilconnell Public Water Supply, which supplies almost 250 people.

In the meantime, the Cappataggle Community Group Water Scheme facilitated a connection to their supply.

The water mains in Kilconnell have now been flushed and sample results show the water is safe to drink.

Irish Water has now lifted the boil notice with immediate effect.
