• International Warehousing and Transport, a company that runs daily freight trains from Ballina to Dublin is today making a presentation to the Oireachtas Transport Committee today calling for the cost of using the railway lines to be decreased.

    There's an "urgent need" to reopen train lines to ports on the south coast due to the shift in trade patterns since Brexit, according to the company’s joint managing director Colin Dunne.

    He says a service to Waterford could be opened immediately.
