• The FAI Cup quarter-final between Sligo Rovers and Derry City has been postponed for a second time.

    It's after another outbreak of Covid-19 within the Candystripes camp.

    The match will now take place on Wednesday next week at 7.30pm.

    The ties involving Finn Harps and Shamrock Rovers at Finn Park and Bohemians and Dundalk at Dalymount Park are taking place this Friday.

  • The Extra.ie FAI Cup semi-final draw has been made, with holders Shamrock Rovers facing the winners of Sligo Rovers v Derry City if they can get past Finn Harps in two weeks' time.

    The winners of Athlone Town v Shelbourne will welcome either Bohemians or Dundalk in the other semi.

  • The draw for the first round of the FAI Cup was revealed yesterday as Galway United takes on Collinstown while Sligo rovers face Glebe North in round one of the FAI Cup.

    The two Western sides will both face Dublin opposition in the first round of the competition.

    Galway United face the South Dublin Collinstown side in the first round of the FAI Cup, while Sligo Rovers do battle with Balbriggan side, Glebe North.

    Matches will be played on the weekend of the 11th of August.

  • All dates, kick-off times and locations have now been confirmed for the first round of the Extra.ie FAI Cup first round which will take place across Friday, August 9th to Sunday, August 11th.

  • The FAI Cup quarter final draw reveals the opponents for Sligo Rovers and Galway United.

    Galway host Shamrock Rovers at home while UCD face off against Sligo Rovers.

    All the big teams will not face each other until the semi finals should they get past their quarter-final opponents.

  • In the FAI Cup second round Sligo Rover will face Limerick, while Galway United do battle with Cork City


    Holders Dundalk will travel to Derry City as they look to do the double.


    All fixtures will be played on Sunday, August 25 with dates and kick-off times set to be confirmed at a later date.


  • In the League of Ireland First Division Galway United will face Cobh Ramblers on Friday evening.


    United are in desperate need of points as they currently sit in eight position in the league and will have all to play for against seventh placed Cobh.


    They will need to refocus quickly from their devastating FAI Cup clash with Shamrock Rovers which saw the premier side break the deadlock in the 93rd minute.


    Kickoff in Eamon Deacy Park on Friday is at 7:45.


  • There will be three ties in the first round of this year's F-A-I Cup which has been pared back due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

    The draw which was made today and included no non-league clubs pits home team Finn Harps against St Patrick's Athletic.

    2018 winners Dundalk host Waterford and Longford are away to Cork City.

    Holders Shamrock Rovers, Galway United and Sligo Rovers are among the 13 other league clubs to receive a bye into the second round.

  • Galway United bowed out of the FAI Cup this evening at the hands of Shelbourne.

    The Tribesmen lost out 5-2 in the second round at Eamonn Deacy Park.

  • The Mayo League says that the fixtures for the remainder of the season will be revised in the next few weeks to facilitate the F.A.I. Junior Cup, Connacht Cup/Shield and the Oscar Traynor competition. 

    The revised list will be sent out shortly to clubs. 

    There will be no alteration to the original fixtures diary for the weekends of 8th, 9th, and 15th, 16th September.

  • Sligo Rovers have been advised that no tickets will be on sale on the gate for their EXTRA.ie FAI Cup match against Glebe North at 745 tomorrow.

    There are a number of ticket outlets where tickets will be available between now and kick off, on a first come, first served basis.

    The outlets are as follows:

    Supervalu, Balbriggan

    The harvest Bar, Balbriggan

    Pappagilanos (beside harbour), Balbriggan.

    It has been advised that all supporters purchase their tickets as early as possible on the night to avoid disappointment.

    Rovers have a limited number of tickets available for the clash, which can be obtained at the Showgrounds office by noon tomorrow (Friday). 

  • Sligo Rovers will host Finn Harps in the League of Ireland Premier Division on Friday evening.


    Harps make the trip to the Showgrounds in desperate need of points as they currently rest second from the bottom above UCD.


    Kick-off is at 8pm.


    Meanwhile, Waterford and Dundalk will look to join Sligo and Shamrock Rovers in the FAI Cup last four tonight.


    The final semi-finalist will be decided next Monday when Crumlin United take on Bohemians.

    The winner will face Shamrock Rovers on Sunday in the semi-final.


  • The semi-finals of the FAI Cup take place today.

    Champions Shamrock Rovers entertain Sligo Rovers from 2-o'clock this afternoon.

    Then this evening Athlone Town will look to upset the odds when they host Dundalk at five-past-7.

    The final is at the Aviva Stadium next weekend.
