• A 56 year old woman died following a collision in Co Galway yesterday morning.

    Gardai in Ballinasloe are investigating the collision that happened  at approximately 10.20am yesterday (Thursday) at Lismanny, Laurencetown, Ballinasloe, on the Eyrecourt to Ballinasloe Road.

    The woman was the sole occupant of the car, and was pronounced dead at scene.

    Her name has not yet been released.

    Her body was removed from the scene to University Hospital Galway for a post mortem examination.

    The road was closed for a time yesterday to facilitate a forensic collision examination.

  • Tributes are being paid to the young woman who died after a debs in Ballinasloe, Co Galway. 

    Jessica Moore, from Loughrea, was partying with friends in a hotel on Sunday night when she became unwell.

    The 19-year-old was pronounced dead in Portiuncula University Hospital , and her post-mortem examination takes place today.

    Jessica was due to receive her Leaving Cert results in St. Raphael's College in Loughrea this morning.
