  • Mayo’s Danielle Caldwell wins the Women’s Gaelic Players Association’s Player of the Month for July.

     

    The tenacious defender impressed in Mayo’s group games against Tyrone and Donegal throughout the month of July.

     

    Her manager, Peter Leahy has compared Caldwell to the former Player of the Year Lee Keegan in her ability to nullify opponents.

     

    The Castlebar woman will be hope for a big performance against Galway at 2pm this Sunday.

  • The TG4 Ladies football All Star nominees have been announced.

    Three-in-a-row champions Dublin lead the way with 13 nominations.

    There are 9 nods each for finalists Galway, as well as Connacht rivals Mayo.

    Munster champions Cork have seven nominations, with Tipperary, Tyrone, Donegal, Armagh and Meath also represented.
