  • Castlebar Celtic could be crowned Super League Champions on Sunday if they can overcome Westport United.

    The game in Celtic Park kicks off at 2.30pm.

    Ballina Town will be aiming to secure a place in the final of the Connacht FA Summa Sports Champion Cup final when they take on Ballinasloe in Belleek Park on Sunday at 2pm.

    The Killeen Sports Ground League One Play-Off will also take place on Sunday morning at 11am when Killala clash with Westport Utd B.

    On Saturday evening five games will take place in the Castlecourt Hotel Premier League at 6pm.

  • Castlebar Celtic are through to Round 7 of the FAI New Balance Junior Cup.

    They overcame Tolka Rovers in Frank Cooke Park by 2-0.

    Ioseph O’Reilly and Jordan Loftus got the crucial goals for the Mayo side.

  • Castlebar Celtic has been awarded the FAI Club Mark for best practice in governance, management and administration.

    In a statement on their Twitter Page the club thanked all of their coaches, volunteers, players, parents, supporters, sponsors and committee members who have contributed.

  • The Republic of Ireland Women’s Under 16 Head Coach Sharon Boyle has announced her 20-player squad for the upcoming UEFA Development Tournament in Sweden.

    The Women U16’s play Sweden, Austria, and Turkey in the space of five days, starting on Saturday in Smogen against the hosts.

    Castlebar Celtic defender Hana Ueno has been included in the squad along with Salthill Devon Goalkeeper Ria McPhilbin.

    Ireland’s campaign begins on Saturday at 2pm Irish time in Sweden.  

  • A video of Castlebar Celtic footballers doing ‘Keepy-Uppys’ with a toilet roll has gone viral.

    The footage shows members of their senior squad skillfully doing tricks with the loo roll went crated huge traction on social media.

    It’s part of an online trend encouraging athletes to keep active during the Covid-19 playing and training ban.

  • Michael McNicholas has departed his role as Castlebar Celtic manager.

    A statement on the club's Facebook page thanked him for his professionalism over the years and the joy he brought to Celtic Park when crowned Mayo Super League champions in 2019.

    "He will always be welcome to Celtic Park and we wish him all the best for the future," the announcement added.

    Celtic are now on the lookout to find a replacement.

  • Castlebar Celtic are reminding the general public that due to HSE guidelines and Covid-19 restrictions Celtic Park is closed.

    The club have installed CCTV and it is operational in all parts of the grounds.

    Any groups or individuals found gaining access to the facility notably their grass pitch will be asked to leave and/or Gardaí will be notified.

  • Jamesie Maughan of Castlebar Foroige club was presented with the award for ESB Best Steam Project at the 2019 ESB Creative Tech Fest, which took place in the Convention Centre Dublin on Wednesday.

    The young Castlebar man’s 'Steam Caravan' work earned him the award which was presented by Marguerite Sayers, Executive Director ESB and President of Engineers Ireland.

    Over 500 young people, aged between 10 and 18, from 50 youth groups across Ireland, attended the bilingual event which celebrates the innovation, creativity and collaboration of young people who participate in TechSpace hubs in local organisations and schools across Ireland.

    The awards, hosted by Jess Kelly of Tech Talk on Newstalk, honoured winners in the areas of Creative Computer Science, Digital Creativity and STEAM.

  • Castlebar Gardai are looking for the public’s assistance in locating a man who was last seen at 12:30 yesterday.

    Gardai are interested in locating the car he is driving which is a grey Honda HRV 161-MO-2889.

  • Mayo SSE Under 15 team member and former Castlebar Celtic player Shane Cunningham has been included in the Republic of Ireland Under 15 camp to take place in two weeks' time.

    Shane, was part of the Under 14 panel in 2018/19.

    Shane, who captains his St. Gerald's school team and plays Gaelic football for Castlebar Mitchels, will attend camp with 26 young lads from all over Ireland.

  • Connacht Rugby has announced a new home kit for the 2019/2020 season and it is available across all Elvery’s Sports stores in the province.

    The Pro 14 side have launched their new kit this morning with Bundee Aki, Jarad Butler and Sean O’Brien among the poster boss for the new blended green look.

    The first chance to see the new jersey in action will be in the developmental Celtic Cup games at the end of August, as Connacht’s young guns put their hands up for senior selection next year.
