Bord Bia

  • Bord Bia will highlight Quality Assurance benefits to farmers, and will support them in preparation for farm audits during a series of farm walk events in the coming months.

The first such event will take place on Monday July 23rd on the farm of Fergal Doyle, Tubberavine, Lahardane, Co. Mayo from 7pm-9pm.

This is a Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine approved Knowledge Transfer event.

Bord Bia in conjunction with Teagasc, will highlight the essential role of farmers in securing new markets.

  • The Agriculture Minister has launched the Bord Bia Beef Market Tracking Tool.

It was devised in response to requests at the beef talks in September for enhanced market transparency.

The tracking tool is based on three components - cattle price index, beef market price index and an offal indicator.

IFA President Joe Healy says that the new beef price indices shows that the beef market is improving and that farmers must get an immediate price increase.
