Athlone Town Ladies AFC

  • Kilmaine’s Kelsey Munroe who recently signed for Athlone town joined Michael D McAndrew on Sunday Sport this afternoon.

    Kelsey brings a lot of experience to her new club, having represented Mayo at the Gaynor Cup a number of times, played on Connaught schools teams, and represented the Republic of Ireland at Under 15 and Under 19 level.

    The south Mayo girl has played for Sligo Rovers' and Galway WFC's Under 17s, winning the league and cup double with the latter, and was part of Galway's squad for the Women's National League last season.

    She says she can’t wait for the season to kick off next weekend.

  • Roisín Molloy of Kiltimagh Knock United  has become the latest Mayo player to sign for Athlone Town Ladies AFC.

    The Mayo club says Roisín was an integral part of the Kiltimagh / Knock United U-19 ladies squad in 2019 and 2020 and featured for the senior ladies last year.

    In a statement on social media, Kiltimagh / Knock Utd describe Roisín as "a dynamic, talented footballer who's well able to play in a number of roles across the pitch".
