2021 funding

  • €33.5 million has been allocated today for regional and local roads in Mayo for 2021.

    This is up from last year's €32 million allocation, and includes €17 million for restoration and improvement works, almost €5 million for maintenance and €1.3 million for drainage works.

    There's also a specific improvement grant of €850,000 for the R312 road and bridge realignment at Glenisland and €69,000 for streets in Killala.

    €100,000 has been allocated for the Kilmaine to Tuam road at Foxhall, and €40,000 for the Cong bypassout relief road.

    Over half a milllion euro has been allocated for rehabilitation works on a number of bridges across the county - including €200,000 for Achill Sound bridge, €85,000 for Behy More bridge, Ballina and 75,000 for Behy briadge, Ballycastle.

    Over €668,000 has been allocated for safety improvements on regional and local roads throughout Co Mayo - including €102,000 for Lisloughrey junction, Cong, €80,000 for Carocushlaun, Ballina, €60,000 at Keem Bay in Achill and €58,000 for a pedestrian route from Moygownagh national school to the community centre.
