Three athletes from Mayo Athletics Club were in the Irish team competing in the 31st Annual British and Irish Masters International Cross Country in Swansea on Saturday last, November 17.
They all ran in the same race over 6km on a tough hilly course at Singleton Park. Competition was keen between individuals and teams from the five nations - England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and Ireland.
Pauline Moran from Newport ran brilliantly to win gold, finishing first individual in the W60 age category, and led the Irish W60 team who won silver.
Mags Glavey from Swinford also had a very strong run and led the Irish W60 team home and they won bronze.
Tom Hunt from Carracastle was Ireland's second finisher in their M70 age category team who won silver.
Mayo AC is very proud of the three medal winning master athletes who have represented the club in many previous Masters International Cross Country events.
They continue the club's excellent record in this annual international event.
