There was no decision reached last night at the Mayo County Board Meeting regarding the affliation of a proposed new club, St Coman's Hollymount.

A discussion was held in MacHale Park last night at the first County Board meeting of 2018 regarding the conditions for affiliation of St Coman's Hollymount as approved by the Mayo GAA Management Committee. Were the new club to be affiliated, it would mean the formation of an entirely new club.

After presentations from both sides and a discussion with club delegates - which the local media were prevented from sitting in on - the decision was taken that the conditions regarding the formation of the new club would be brought back by the delegates to their clubs where they would be debated, before a specially convened meeting to vote on the matter which will take place as soon as possible.
