Roscommon are Connacht senior football champions for the first time since 2010.
They defeated Galway by 2-15 to 12 points at a windy Pearse Stadium in Salthill.
The result means Roscommon have gone one better than last year when they brought the Tribesmen to a replay in the final before they were heavily defeated.
Galway now have a tough Round 4 qualifer with Donegal while Roscommon move on to the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
Roscommon manager Kevin McStay says they owed it to themselves to perform to the best of their ability.
Meanwhile Mayo face Cork in the 4th round of the All Ireland Football Qualifiers, time, date and venue to be confirmed later today.
