Appeal sought after Athenry Apple decision
- Details

Two residents of Athenry in Co. Galway have decided to apply for an appeal of last week's decision not to block a proposed data centre in the town.
The Commercial Court paved the way for work to begin on Apple's € 850m project by refusing their challenge to the granting of planning permission.
Sinead Fitzpatrick and Allan Daly claimed An Bord Pleanála had failed to carry out the necessary environmental assessment.
But Mr. Justice Paul McDermott dismissed their applications and they now want to take their case to the Supreme Court.
Lawyers for the planning board say they must identity a specific point of exceptional public importance when the case is mentioned again next week.
