National Campaign Underway for Cyclists to be Seen

"Be safe, be seen" is the message to cyclists as part of a new campaign highlighting road safety during the darker winter months.
Garda patrol cars have been stocked with hi-vis jackets to hand out to road users as part of the annual campaign.
Noel Gibbons, Road Safety Officer with Mayo County Council, says this year has already seen more cyclist fatalities than last year, with 12 cyclist deaths so far in 2017, compared to 11 in total in 2016.
