Mayo-based Junior Minister Michael Ring is remaining tight-lipped this evening in relation to a possible promotion in Leo Varadker’s Cabinet.
Minister Ring is hotly tipped to take a seat at the Cabinet table when the new Taoiseach announces his line-up tomorrow, but he told Midwest News this evening that he has not yet spoken to Mr Varadker on the issue.
However, he said that if the opportunity arises, he would be delighted to serve as a senior Minister.
Elsewhere, Minister Ring has this evening announced funding for the Mayo islands.
Minister Ring and his colleague Minister of State Sean Kyne have allocated funding for road improvements – with 112,500 euro for road surfacing works on Clare Island, 37,500 for Inisbiggle, for a stone wall to give extra protection to the pontoon, and 15,000 euro for the design and costings for a helipad on Inisturk.
