Sunday 18th April 2021 will be Ireland's next Census Day.

The census is held every five years, and Galway West TD and Minister of State Séan Kyne - who has responsibility for the Central Statistics Office- has confirmed that, taking into account a number of factors including Easter, Sunday 18th April has been chosen as Census Day 2021.

Minister Kyne says it's envisaged that the Census will ask up to 32 questions on a variety of issues - including housing, transport, citizenship, language, health and education.

He says the statistics provided by the Census help shape policies and programmes across Government departments.
