Met Eireann predicts that temperatures could reach the mid-20's across Connacht later this week - but we can expect heavy rain in parts of the country over the rest of today.

A status yellow weather advisory is in place for Ireland, with a risk of heavy thundery downpours until 10pm tonight  - especially in Munster and Leinster.

However, drier and warmer weather can be expected from Wednesday, with temperatures reaching about 25 degrees in the West on Thursday and Friday.
