It's emerged senior government officials have raised serious concerns about tens of millions of euro in cuts to make up for cost over-runs at the National Children's Hospital.

The Irish Times reports that rural funds, flood risk management, roads and higher education projects are among the areas that lost out on funding.

It’s because of "re-profiling" of many projects due to the cost of the project, which now stands at over 1.4 billion euro.
