A Swinford Councillor is calling on Transport Infrastructure Ireland to urgently review safety on the N5 at Swinford, following another fatality in the area over the weekend.
On Friday, Brian Bacon from Aghamore died following a collision between a lorry and two cars on the N5 close to the Kilkelly Road junction.
His funeral will take place tomorrow.
Local Fianna Fail Councillor Michael Smyth is calling for a roundabout to be installed at the junction of the N5 and N26 to slow down traffic.
Councillor Smyth says he would like to see the TII step in and take the lead on improving safety on this stretch of road, before further fatalities occur.
