The search for a missing fisherman on Lough Mask has been stood down for this evening due to poor weather conditions.
The man who is aged in his 70’s and from the locality left from the Ballinrobe side of the lake at about noon on Friday, and the alarm was raised when he failed to return.
The man’s boat was found on Saturday in the Aughnis area of the lake and that is where the search focused on today.
The search effort on the lake was hampered by poor weather conditions over the weekend.
Extensive shoreline searches have been carried out in recent days.
Local volunteers assisted Gardaí in today’s operation.
The Garda Water Unit will return to the water tomorrow morning in efforts to locate the missing man.
