Over 10,000 people are expected to attend the Galway Solemn Novena this week.
Now in its 38th year, the Novena will reflect on the joy of love and family life today. Thousands of people are attending Galway Cathedral for the six sessions taking place each day until next Tuesday 26th February.
The Novena got underway yesterday, while Thursday is devoted to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Anointing of the Sick will take place at the 11am Mass on Saturday morning, while children and babies will be blessed after all sessions on Sunday.
Organisers are appealing to those attending Galway Cathedral to park legally, and not to block gateways or park on footpaths or double yellow lines.
