Met Eireann has now updated its wind warning for Mayo and Galway for tomorrow to a Status Orange warning, as Storm Erik approaches.
The weather warning comes into effect from 5am tomorrow morning until lunchtime, with southwest to west winds and severe or damaging gusts of up to 130 km/h.
The highest winds will be in exposed coastal areas, along with very high seas and some coastal flooding can be expected.
The status orange wind warnings apply to the coastal counties of Mayo, Galway and Donegal, with a status yellow warning for the rest of the country.
The Road Safety Authority is asking road users to exercise caution tomorrow with very strong winds expected.
Drivers should beware of falling debris and objects being blown onto the road.
Control of vehicles can also be affected by strong cross winds - high sided vehicles and motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable.
