Funding in excess of €100,000 has been approved for 24 organisations in Mayo under the Community Services Programme Support Fund.

The funding is being provided on a once off basis in 2019 pending the review of the programme.

The CSP supports community-based organisations to provide local social, economic and environmental services through a social enterprise model, providing a contribution towards the cost of staff in CSP organisations. It typically supports organisations to meet local service gaps and provide access to services and facilities that would otherwise generally be unavailable.

The CSP Support Fund will enable community organisations which are participants in the Community Services Programme to pay their staff the newly increased minimum wage which rose to €9.80 per hour from this month.

Minister Michael Ring told Midwest News about the organisations to benefit.
