Three, 200 foot blades for the Oweninny wind farm development in North Mayo were carried over road, from Killybegs in Donegal through Ballina and Crossmolina in the early hours of this morning.

The huge cargo traveled with police escort.

Local Fianna Fail councillor Michael Loftus told Midwest News today that there was big excitement in Ballina and Crossmolina early this morning.

Large blades and turbines will continue to be transported along this route on a regular basis between now and the end of next month.
