Almost 900 incidents of trespassing have been reported to gardai across the country to-date this year, according to the Irish Farmers Journal.
Galway had the highest number of trespassing incidents, with 79 reported this year, followed by Limerick and Kildare with 77 and 71 incidents reported.
Farmers have been highlighting increasing issues with illegal hare coursing and often report feeling powerless when faced with groups of men hunting with dogs.
Farmers are advised to contact gardaí immediately if they witness trespassers on their property.
Hannah Quinn Mulligan journalist with the Irish Farmers Journal told Midwest News this morning that while incidents of trespassing are high in Galway, the problem is nationwide.
