Either the road is too low or the newly installed ramps in the village of Turlough, Castlebar are too high – but either way they will cause an accident and are at present causing grave concern to many motorists. That’s the view of Independent Castlebar councillor, the Cathaoirleach of Castlebar Municipal District, Michael Kilcoyne. The Cathaoirleach raised concerns over the development at the monthly meeting of Castlebar Municipal District.
Cllr Kilcoyne echoed what many people using the route are saying about the new ramps –located along the old Castlebar to Turlough road.
The recently installed ramps, located either side of the main entrance into the Museum of Country Life in Turlough are not adequately signposted, and in addition appear simply too high for many vehicles, the councillor claimed.
The Cathaoirleach told Midwest News today that he is aware of cases where buses have got stuck on the ramp and ended up literally see-sawing over the them.
