The new Ryanair service from Ireland West Airport Knock to Cologne in Germany was officially launched today at the airport by Minister Michael Ring.

This brings to 13 the number of destinations that Ryanair operate from Knock.

Speaking at today’s launch, David O’Brien Chief Commercial Officer of Ryanair says Failte Ireland’s efforts in promoting the Wild Atlantic Way and the abolition of the airport tax by the Fine Gael led Government in recent years, has helped Ryanair in providing the large number of routes currently available from the airport.

Mr O’Brien told Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley that the airport management are also responsible for helping with the expansion of routes.
