LEADER funding of €175,000 has been approved for two county Roscommon projects. The funding has been announced by the Minister for Rural & Community Development, Michael Ring.
Lisnamult Residents Association will receive €158,000 to help carry out Phase 2 of its development of Lisnamult Community Sports Park. Phase 2 involves the development of a multi-purpose area to include kitchen, toilets, function room and meeting room.
While St. Brendan's GAA Club in Ballygar is to receive funding of €18,000 to help towards the provision of a walking/jogging and cycle track.
Local Fine Gael Senator Frank Feighin told Midwest News this morning that the funding is very welcome news and these two projects will have a very positive impact on both communities.
