The delay in progressing the multi-million euro development of the Sacred Heart Hospital in Roscommon Town is a matter of concern, according to local Fianna Fail TD Eugene Murphy.

Before the 2016 general election, plans were announced for a €10 million development of the Sacred Heart Hospital, including a replacement 50-bed unit, and the project was due for completion in 2021.

However, Deputy Murphy claims little progress has been made since, and the most recent reply he received from the Health Minister indicates that the design process will begin next year, with construction getting underway in late 2020, and a completion date of 2022.

Deputy Murphy says the plans for the facility are moving at a very slow pace....
