Roadworks due to be carried out in Ballyhaunis town will take place next week during night-time hours.

The works mark the completion of the upgrading of the Ballyhaunis to Tavrane Road.

The issue was raised at this week's meeting of Mayo County Council, where Councillor John Cribben asked that any road works taking place in towns in the Claremorris Municipal District would be completed by 1st December, or postponed until the New Year, to facilitate Christmas shoppers.

Councillor Cribben told Midwest News the roadworks that will be carried out in Ballyhaunis from next Monday to Wednesday, at night-time.
