Galway West TD Eamon O'Cuiv has been removed from the Fianna Fail front bench, following his involvement in the unauthorised launch of an election candidate in northern Ireland.
Deputy O'Cuiv and Senator Mark Daly were involved in an event claiming to be the unveiling of former SF Councilor Sorcha McAnespy as Fianna Fail's first election candidate in the North.
Fianna Fail insisted it was not an official event, and said the party had not made a decision on running candidates in the North.
The party later issued disciplinary proceedings against Kerry Senator Mark Daly, who was stripped of his role as deputy leader of the Seanad over his involvement and also lost the title of FF Seanad spokesperson for foreign affairs.
And this evening, it's been confirmed that Deputy O'Cuiv has been removed from the FF front bench.
